For the prevention of youth smoking and vaping

By the Manitoba Lung Association

Who we are

Lungs R4 Life is a core program developed by the Manitoba Lung Association for the prevention and cessation of youth smoking and vaping. The curriculum content is developed primarily for students up to Grade 12.

The “Lungs are for Life!” program is the only smoking and vaping prevention program for elementary and middle school students and can be easily integrated into the health education curriculum. The program aims to give students information about nicotine to enable and empower them to make healthy and informed decisions about starting vaping or smoking.

The program successfully rolled out in the early fall of 2020 and saw immediate interest from Health Teachers across the province. Since then it has continued to evolve with the addition of new programs.

Let’s encourage our youth to recognize that “My Lungs Are For Life”!

Lung disease doesn’t play favourites. It affects men, women, children, smokers, non-smokers, and individuals who have never smoked. If lung disease is taking your breath, you do not have to deal with it alone. We are here to help.
